The Sociology Department at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Sociology, starting August 2019.  We are seeking a candidate who has a doctoral degree in sociology, the ability to teach in our core, with a preference for teaching and/or research expertise in the areas of sociology of health, gender studies, social work, and/or human services.

In addition to the preferred areas of specialization, the ideal candidate will be committed to social justice and have experience teaching a community-based learning curriculum, lending to the integration of course content that engages with community partners.  Other responsibilities include advising and mentoring students, working on departmental curriculum development, and participating in college-wide activities. Teaching load is 12 hours per semester.
